Recently, I have been experimenting a lot with watercolor technique, trying to go beyond the frames of realistic painting. At the same time, I want to preserve the visual recognition and beauty of objects, to not sink completely into abstraction. I made this watercolor in the beautiful botanical garden of Hohenheim, inspired by blooming cherries. My main goal was to convey sunlight sparkling on flowers, foliage, and bright green grass. I also like how the dark branches of the tree contrast with delicate pink flowers, structuring the space even further.
