Bright summer etude of Peony. (Oil on canvas, 25x25cm). I like this huge juicy flowers, its sweet honey scent.
I applied a gentle thin brush to draw its soft, sweet petals with water drops. To achieve this pink tone I blended carmine and zinc white, in the shadows I also used emerald green and blue ultramarine. To show how the sunlight playing on the petals I applied the rotation of light and dark tone.
For the background, I used light blue tone, as on many others my works. To get an air sense effect I applied random wide strokes.
